Born in Paris to a truck driver and a shop assistant, Marceau was discovered for “La Boum” (1980) at 13 through an open audition. She moved out of her family home at 17 and bought herself out of her contract with Gaumont.

Career

Mel Gibson’s “Braveheart” (1995) introduced her to global audiences. She partnered with directors Andrzej Zulawski, Bernard Giraudeau, and others, and starred opposite Pierce Brosnan in “The World Is Not Enough” (1999).
