Origins
Intel was founded on July 18, 1968, by Gordon Moore and Robert Noyce, both formerly of Fairchild Semiconductor. The company was originally named NM Electronics before adopting the name Intel, short for Integrated Electronics.

Intel is best known for its x86 series of microprocessors, including the Core, Xeon, and Pentium lines. The company also produces chipsets, network interface controllers, flash memory, graphics chips, and embedded processors.
Operations
