With director Michael Curtiz he led “The Charge of the Light Brigade,” “The Adventures of Robin Hood,” and “The Sea Hawk.” He played George Armstrong Custer in “They Died with Their Boots On” and continued in adventure, war, and Western films through the 1940s and 1950s.
