Goldie Hawn

Background

Born in Washington, D.C., to a Jewish American mother and Presbyterian band-leader father, Hawn studied drama at American University before working as a chorus dancer in New York.

Career

She rose to fame on the sketch series “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In” before winning her Oscar her first time out for “Cactus Flower” (1969). She produced and starred in “Private Benjamin” (1980) and many family-led comedies.

Style

Hawn is known for distinctive laugh, blond hair, and long-term partnership with actor Kurt Russell since 1983. She founded MindUP, a children’s mindfulness program adopted in schools across multiple countries.
