Origins
Chubb was founded in 1882 by Thomas Caldecot Chubb and his son Percy in New York as a marine underwriter. The modern Chubb Limited was formed in 2016 by the merger of ACE Limited and the historic Chubb Corporation, which adopted the Chubb name.
