Origins
Epson’s roots go back to 1942 when Hisao Yamazaki founded Daiwa Kogyo, a watch parts factory in Suwa, Japan. The Epson name was first used for the EP-101 mini-printer in 1968, with EP standing for Electronic Printer.

Epson is best known for inkjet and laser printers, including the EcoTank refillable line. The company also makes scanners, projectors, point-of-sale printers, robots, smart glasses, and the Seiko Epson microelectronics business.
