Origins
Intuit was founded in 1983 by Scott Cook and Tom Proulx in Mountain View, California. The first product was Quicken personal finance software for DOS, which became the company’s anchor product through the 1990s.

Intuit’s main offerings are QuickBooks small business accounting, TurboTax tax preparation, Credit Karma consumer credit and financial tools, and Mailchimp marketing automation. The company divested Quicken in 2016.
