Production

Walt Disney Pictures released Frozen in November 2013. Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee co-directed, with Lee co-writing the screenplay. Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez wrote the songs, and Idina Menzel voiced Elsa with Kristen Bell as her younger sister Anna.

Story

In the kingdom of Arendelle, Princess Elsa is born with ice powers she cannot control. After accidentally plunging her homeland into eternal winter on her coronation day, she flees into the mountains. Her sister Anna follows, accompanied by the ice harvester Kristoff and a reindeer named Sven.

Reception

Frozen grossed over 1.28 billion dollars worldwide and became the highest-grossing animated film at the time of its release. The song Let It Go won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, and Frozen II in 2019 became even more commercially successful.
