Born in Dublin, Ireland, McGregor worked as a plumber’s apprentice before pursuing professional MMA. He joined the UFC in 2013 after success in the Cage Warriors promotion.
Career
He won the UFC featherweight title in 2015 by knocking out Jose Aldo in 13 seconds. In 2016 he won the lightweight title and held both belts briefly before being stripped. He has crossed over to boxing for a 2017 bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
