Background
Born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina, Jordan played college basketball at the University of North Carolina before being drafted third overall by the Chicago Bulls in 1984.
Career
He spent 13 seasons in Chicago, winning six titles in two three-peats (1991–1993 and 1996–1998), interrupted by a brief retirement and stint in minor league baseball. He returned briefly with the Washington Wizards before retiring in 2003.

A two-way shooting guard with first-step quickness and mid-range scoring, Jordan combined athletic finishing with strong on-ball defence, earning Defensive Player of the Year in 1988.
