Born in Charlotte, Tennessee, Oscar Robertson grew up in Indianapolis and was the first African-American player to win Indiana’s Mr. Basketball award before starring at the University of Cincinnati.
Career
Drafted by the Cincinnati Royals in 1960, he averaged a triple-double across the 1961-62 season. Traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in 1970, he won the NBA title there in 1971 partnered with rookie Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
