Born in Zadar, Croatia, Luka Modric came through Dinamo Zagreb’s youth ranks during the upheaval of post-Yugoslav-era Croatia and made his senior debut in 2003.
Career
He moved to Tottenham Hotspur in 2008 and to Real Madrid in 2012, where he won five Champions League titles. He captained Croatia to the 2018 World Cup final, finishing as the tournament’s best player.
