A trailing Mexican succulent whose blue-green leaves overlap densely along long pendant stems, making it a popular hanging-basket houseplant.
Description
Burros tail produces ropelike stems thickly clothed with plump, blue-green, tear-shaped leaves. Mature plants may bear small pink or red flowers at the stem tips in summer.
Cultivation
The fleshy leaves snap off easily, so handle gently. It needs bright light, gritty cactus mix, and very sparing watering. Stem cuttings root readily.
Uses
A classic hanging plant in patios and bright windows, burros tail is also a favorite in succulent arrangements where its long trailing stems add movement.
