A South Pacific trailing aroid with heart-shaped leaves, the most widely sold houseplant in the world and an emblem of beginner-friendly indoor gardening.
Description
Pothos trails or climbs with heart-shaped glossy green leaves often splashed with creamy yellow. In tropical wild habitat it climbs huge trees and grows leaves up to a metre wide.
Cultivation
One of the most adaptable houseplants ever, pothos tolerates poor light, sporadic watering, and dry indoor air. Bright indirect light keeps the variegation strong and growth dense.
Uses
Pothos is on nearly every recommended-list for new plant owners and was studied by NASA for indoor air filtration. Many cultivars exist, including the popular Marble Queen and Neon forms.
