Another name for golden pothos, a vigorous trailing aroid from French Polynesia, prized as the most forgiving and fast-growing of indoor vining plants.
Description
Devils ivy produces heart-shaped green leaves often splashed with creamy yellow or white. In the wild it climbs trees with aerial roots, but indoors it trails or scales a moss pole.
Cultivation
It will grow under almost any conditions short of darkness, surviving long periods between waterings. Bright indirect light keeps the variegation strong.
Uses
A near-indestructible houseplant and the gateway plant for many beginners, devils ivy is also planted as a landscape vine in tropical regions where it can become invasive.
