Description
Snake plant grows rigid upright leaves that taper to a point, mottled dark and light green, sometimes edged in yellow. Mature plants may produce slim spikes of fragrant cream flowers.
Cultivation
Almost impossible to kill except by overwatering, snake plant tolerates low light, neglect, and dry air. It grows fastest in bright indirect light with sparing watering.
Uses
A staple of homes and offices worldwide, the snake plant was tested by NASA for indoor air filtration and continues to appear in modern minimalist interiors.
